Naveo Credit Union Raises $1,200 for Boston Childrens Hospital

(Somerville, MA) For the tenth consecutive year, Naveo Credit Union participated in the Miracle Jeans Day initiative to raise funds for Boston Children’s Hospital, its local Miracle Network hospital. During the month of September, Naveo joined hundreds of organizations and raised funds from employees and members. Naveo then matched the employee donations for a total donation of $1,200.
Naveo participated in the Miracle Jeans Day initiative on Wednesday, September 9 by trading in their business attire for jeans and their favorite New England sports team tee shirt in exchange for a donation to Boston Children’s Hospital. To raise additional funds, Naveo extended employee jeans day to all Fridays throughout the month of September. Due to the pandemic, Naveo established an online portal where members and neighbors could donate to the cause without having the leave the safety of their home. Donations were also accepted at the branches.
“I am grateful for the generosity of our employees and members year after year, and the care of our children has been one of the highest priority projects for Naveo’s charitable contributions program. It truly reflects the credit union philosophy of ‘people helping people. We know that Miracle Jeans Day makes a direct impact by providing medical needs to children in our community,” commented Albert Pinho, Interim Chief Executive Officer of Naveo Credit Union.
Miracle Jeans Day is a fundraising and awareness initiative for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals to fund life-saving medical research for the treatment of their patients. Since 1983, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has raised more than $5 billion to benefit and fund life-saving medical needs at 170 hospitals throughout the country. Naveo has raised over $16,000 in the last ten years of participation.
