CaptureChristopher Leggett, manager of the Tumbler Ridge Branch of the Lakeview Credit Union, presented Charissa Tonnesen, President of the Tumbler Ridge Museum Foundation, with a cheque for $2500 on July 10. This was following the approval of a funding request from the Museum Foundation, to cover the refurbishing and enhancing of the museum exhibits in the Tumbler Ridge Community Centre. In partnership with the District of Tumbler Ridge, the money donated will go towards upgrading the current exhibits. All foam-core exhibits will be covered with Lexan, which will give them a more appealing appearance, and will also help as a protection against vandalism. The funds will also be used to create an addition to the Sports Hall of Fame, where Laura Sharman will be inducted on July 26. The Lakeview Credit Union has a fine tradition of supporting the Museum Foundation in developing these exhibits through previous similar donations. This generous gesture is much appreciated, and will be put to good use for the benefit of the community.
