Tropical Financial CU Recognized for Employee Appreciation

MIRAMAR, Fla. – (September, 2020) – For the third year in a row, Tropical Financial Credit Union has been named one of the Top Workplaces in South Florida by the Sun Sentinel. Tropical Financial was honored in the midsize company category. For 2020, a record 134 employers agreed to take the survey, according to the Sun Sentinel. Combined, they employ 55,605 people in South Florida.  

Each year, the Sun Sentinel sends out a confidential employee survey that looks at a number of factors, including pay and benefits, if employees feel appreciated, confidence in company leaders and more. Employers are not allowed to look at the surveys, so employees know they can answer honestly.  

“We have been working hard to adjust and stay focused on what matters during this pandemic,” said Rich Helber, president and CEO. “This honor shows me that our employees see how much we care as a company and that, even through COVID, they are happy to be a part of this organization and know they are valued.” 

TFCU offers a highly-competitive benefits package along with a number of employee perks such as wellness programs and community involvement activities. This year the credit union increased its tuition reimbursement for employees which covers not just undergrad costs, but graduate school tuition as well, which is a rare offering in most companies, and added a student loan repayment benefit as well.
