Kulm, ND - September 24, 2020 - Hometown Credit Union recently participated in Miracle Jeans Day which took place on Wednesday, September 9th. Miracle Jeans Day is the annual fundraiser for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals sponsored by Credit Unions for Kids allowing credit union staff to wear jeans in exchange for a $5 donation on that day. Credit Union for Kids began in 1996 to make hard times easier for sick children and their parents by raising money to fund new facilities, groundbreaking treatments, vital research, and special patient needs. Not only did Hometown CU celebrate Miracle Jeans Day, they extended it to “Miracle Jeans Week” allowing members to donate throughout the week of September 8th-11th.

Additionally, Hometown’s Kulm branch reached out to local businesses in their community to participate in a business challenge. The staff of those businesses could wear jeans on Miracle Jeans Day if they also donated $5 for the children’s hospital. Additionally, the credit union and the businesses sold Miracle Jeans Day icons that were displayed in business lobbies in exchange for a $1 donation.

Altogether, Hometown Credit Union and Kulm businesses raised a total of $717, which well exceeded their initial goal of $100! All donations went to the Sanford Children’s Hospital in Fargo. Thank you to everyone who donated, participated, and supported the kids!
