Driven by Midwestern Values. We care and we are here to improve lives.
Falcon Heights, MN - Sept. 1, 2020 - Dan Stoltz, President and CEO of SPIRE Credit Union, received the Pain Free Patriot Community Service Hero Award. He is the first-ever honoree, and was recognized at their August 27 virtual fundraising event. The award recognizes an individual who personifies the mission of passionately serving America’s heroes with devotion and selflessness.
SPIRE matched the first $50,000 in donations during the event. Proceeds benefit “America’s Heroes,” which includes veterans, current service members, first responders, sheriffs, police officers, and those working on the current state of crisis in America.
Stoltz is passionate about building and strengthening communities through volunteering time, talents, and treasures. A self-described “Net-Giver,” Stoltz’s personal philosophy, “life is about giving, not getting,” is evident in his leadership at SPIRE.
Over the years, Dan has received many awards and accolades including: 2015 Outstanding Professional of the Year by the Minnesota Credit Union Network, 2016 Spurgeon Leadership Award from The Boy Scouts of America for service as an exceptional role model for youth; 2017 Executive of the Year from DECA for leadership development in area high schools. Most recently, Dan was named a 2020 Most Admired CEO by Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine. This holiday season, he will serve as the 2020 Salvation Army Red Kettle Community Chair.
One may also recognize Stoltz as King Boreas 79 of the 2015 St. Paul Winter Carnival. This yearlong commitment involved making over 400 public appearances with the Royal Family. Then he served as the 2016-2017 Minneapolis Aquatennial Commodore, which included over 300 appearances. Stoltz is the first person ever to serve as head of the Winter Carnival and Aquatennial in back-to-back years.
Another example of Dan service to the community was in April of 2020. Dan spearheaded the SPIRE Gives Big initiative where $250,000 was donated to 187 local organizations and businesses affected by COVID-19. Each of SPIRE’s 20 branches, administrative departments, senior management team, Board of Directors, and supervisory committee were asked to select organizations that were important to them and their local community to receive funding.
“SPIRE and Pain Free Patriots have been community partners for many years now. Receiving the 2020 Community Service Hero Award is a huge honor,” says Stoltz, “I am grateful for being given the opportunity to serve my community throughout my career, and to be recognized by this upstanding organization.”
