Aetna Names Tropical Financial a Healthy Workplace for Third Consecutive Year

MIRAMAR, Fla. – Tropical Financial Credit Union is proud to announce it has received an Aetna Workplace Well-being Award for the third year in a row.  The South Florida-based financial institution earned a Bronze award in 2018, followed by a Silver ranking in 2019 and another Silver in 2020.   

The Aetna Workplace Well-being awards started in 2017 to recognize companies with Aetna health care plans that go above and beyond to encourage health and wellness among employees. To apply, companies are required to share their well-being strategies, communications and program implementations. Then, a peer review committee made up of wellness professionals with an average of 25 years of experience review and score applications based on pre-defined criteria. 

As an employer with a strong commitment to improving the health of its employees, Tropical Financial has been able to adapt its wellness strategy to make it relevant during current times.   

“We are honored to once again be recognized for our workplace wellness programs,” says Elizabeth Jimenez, VP of Human Resources. “Our employees have adapted to working from home, social distancing and wearing masks while making every effort to stay safe, eat healthy and keep active while in quarantine.”
