RAPID CITY, SD, June 10, 2020 – Black Hills Federal Credit Union recently presented Meals on Wheels, Western South Dakota, with a $5,000 donation to help keep seniors safe and nourished in communities across South Dakota. This donation will be dispersed to Meals on Wheels organizations in the communities of Rapid City, Custer, Hot Springs, Wall, Sturgis, Spearfish, Belle Fourche, Pierre, Cheyenne River and Sioux Falls.

Vulnerable seniors are at the greatest risk amid COVID-19. Local Meals on Wheels programs are on the front lines every day, and they are experiencing increased demand since social distancing measures began taking hold mid-March.

“Black Hills Federal Credit Union is proud to partner with Meals on Wheels to ensure individuals in our community are receiving the nourishment they need, “said Carol Brown, vice president of marketing and business development at BHFCU. “With the demand for this service increasing substantially due to COVID-19, it is important we provide the help and support needed to keep our seniors safe at home.”

Established in Rapid City in 1941, Black Hills Federal Credit Union is a member-owned, not-for-profit, financial cooperative serving more than 75,000 members. The community-chartered credit union has locations in Rapid City, Custer, Eagle Butte, Hot Springs, Pierre, Sioux Falls, Spearfish, Sturgis, and Wall, South Dakota.
