Falcon Heights, MN - June 22, 2020 - SPIRE Credit Union was recently honored with six national awards: one Excellence in Marketing – Community Outreach, and five Diamond Awards, four of which garnered the “Category’s Best” designation. Presented by Credit Union National Association (CUNA), the Diamond and Excellence in Marketing Awards recognize outstanding marketing and business development achievements in the credit union industry.
Within the greater than $1 billion credit union asset size class, SPIRE received the following awards:
Excellence in Marketing - Community Outreach, SPIRE - New Freedom Partnership: This was awarded for SPIRE’s partnership with New Freedom, the only drug and alcohol rehabilitation live-in facility within a 50 mile radius surrounding Princeton, MN. SPIRE’s Princeton staff provided weekly financial literacy programing that focuses on financial repair and reestablishment.
Diamond – Annual Reports: SPIRE 85th Annual Report: The 2019 SPIRE Credit Union Annual Report was designed to commemorate their 85th anniversary and highlight how SPIRE has carried on the tradition of “doing the right thing” from founder, Edgar Archer.
Category’s Best Diamond − Business Development: SPIRE-Mississippi Market: In 2019, SPIRE launched onsite financial wellness programming to Mississippi Market Food Co-op, which has three retail grocery co-ops throughout Saint Paul. After 12 months of programming, SPIRE completed 72 hours of onsite financial wellness seminars and 97 hours of one on one financial coaching with employees.
Category’s Best Diamond – Financial Education: Building Financial Freedom: Since the program’s inception in 2007, SPIRE has reached 13,600 individuals over 1,700 classroom hours, and established 92 community partnerships. This is the 13th year of SPIRE’s Financial Literacy Outreach Program. In 2019, 25 SPIRE employees provided personal finance education to adults and youth of all ages at 250 events, covering 40 topics, 700 hours, and reaching 5,800 people.
Category’s Best Diamond − Video Commercial Series: Driven By Midwestern Values: In 2019, its ninth year, SPIRE released its series of 30-second testimonials highlighting members who display a genuine love for all things SPIRE. Each spot features SPIRE’s iconic, 1952 Ford work truck named Archie (in honor of SPIRE’s founder Edgar Archer) as well as SPIRE’s President/CEO Dan Stoltz in authentic, unscripted, and casual conversations about positive experiences with SPIRE, its products, and services.
Category’s Best Diamond − Video Non-Commercial Series: SPIRE Long Form Member Testimonials: In 2019, SPIRE released long form 90+ second versions of four previously released 30-second testimonials to provide a more in-depth look into the stories of these SPIRE members on their social media outlets and website.
