PLYMOUTH, Minn. (June 19, 2020) - To help support its communities during the COVID-19 pandemic, each of TruStone Financial Federal Credit Union’s four branches in Wisconsin are partnering with the TruStone Foundation to donate $1,000 to a local food shelf, for a total donation of $4,000. These donations were made as part of a larger initiative by the credit union to donate $1,000 per branch, totaling $14,000.

TruStone’s CEO, Tim Bosiacki, thanked the staff of food shelves for continuing their hard work during the pandemic. “These organizations provide critical support to the communities they serve in the form of food, clothing and other necessities,” he said in a video response to TruStone’s nomination for a kindness challenge called CUs4U. “Even now, under increased pressure, they’re still working tirelessly to make sure the needs of the community are met.”

The credit union decided to use its participation in the CUs4U challenge to support the staff of some of these organizations. TruStone treated the staff of the Salvation Army of Kenosha and Cold Spring to lunch from one of their favorite restaurants.

Below are the organizations in Wisconsin that TruStone Financial branches selected to receive a $1,000 donation from the TruStone Financial Foundation:

  • Green Bay Road – Shalom Center

  • Northside – The Salvation Army of Kenosha

  • Greenfield – The Salvation Army Cold Spring

  • Cudahy – Project Concern

Marie Lewis, Auxiliary Captain of the Salvation Army of Kenosha County, thanked TruStone for the generous gift. “It will help to care for so many in our community that have been affected by the current COVID-19 pandemic,” she said. “With so many more families in need, this is such a wonderful gift.”
