FORT SMITH, Ark. – United Federal Credit Union (United) has been named the 2020 Sponsor of the Year by the Fort Smith Boys & Girls Clubs. The award honors United’s commitment to the Fort Smith Boys & Clubs over several years, including donations and volunteer hours given to help the Clubs’ programs and mission that ‘great futures start here’.

“It’s truly an honor to be recognized by the Boys & Girls Clubs,” said Stephanie Riffle, United’s Market Vice President in Arkansas. “We strive to live the credit union’s people helping people philosophy, not just in our business interactions, but also in helping the Fort Smith community continue to be a place of kindness and compassion. Team United’s passion for service extends beyond our branch doors, and we’re blessed to share that dedication to the young people at the Boys & Girls Clubs.”

Since 2013, United’s level of giving to the Club has been valued at $50,000. The credit union has continued to sponsor Boys & Girls Club programs that include the Stand With U Mentoring program that provides monthly special events for mentoring participants, after-school transportation support and maintenance for the Club’s five vans, and sponsorship of the annual Alumni & Friends golf tournament and the annual Haunted House fundraiser.

“We applaud and celebrate United’s efforts in supporting youth programs in our community,” said Jerry Glidewell, Executive Director of the Fort Smith Boys & Girls Clubs. “Over the past seven years, the team at United has continued to sponsor Boys & Girls Club programs and volunteer their time to help create positive experiences and memories for our young people.”
