Credit Union Recognized for Community Service

Latham, NY -�On Saturday, June 15, Community Resource Federal Credit Union was awarded the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award by the Credit Union Association of New York for the charitable work the Credit Union performed in its community. The Dora Maxwell Award is named after a credit union pioneer from the 1920s and 1930s, who helped to organize the national trade organization, CUNA.� In her spare time, she assisted the poor in her community and the Award honors credit unions that carry on her legacy.
Community Resource was selected for developing a committee of employees whose sole purpose is to raise money and volunteer for charities. The employees select the beneficiary charities, develop the events and activities, and organize volunteers for year-round fundraising. Some of these events include a haunted house, pet photos with Santa, and a bottle drive.� Employees are given up to three paid days off to volunteer for the Charity Committees designated charities.
