Credit Union Hosts Food Drive

Deer Park, TX - For the fifth year in a row the Furthering Community Unity (FCU) Team powered by Shell FCU has wrapped up their annual Everyones Gotta Eat food drive. The food drive is hosted throughout the month of May to help local pantries in Harris County fill their shelves for the summer months. For 2013, the FCU Team was able to raise more than $500 and over 3,870 food items for people and for pets to be donated to 7 different food pantries and animal shelters. The FCU Team could not have accomplished this extraordinary task without the help out their community, members and staff at Shell FCU. The FCU Team approached local schools to partner together with the students to help bring in maximum donations. The students were asked to draw pictures on paper lunch sacks and bring the lunch sacks back to school full of food for those in need.
