Coeur d’Alene, ID - May 13, 2020 – Family Promise of North Idaho will get a much-needed donation of four kids edition Amazon Fire Tablets thanks to member-owned, Numerica Credit Union.

Family Promise serves area homeless families with children by providing guidance and support for temporary food and shelter while they’re seeking permanent employment and housing. With an increased need due to the Coronavirus, the organization was in search of reliable and convenient educational support for the kids at the shelter.

“There was already a need for the technology,” explained Cindy Wood, Executive Director at Family Promise of North Idaho. “Because of COVID-19, Numerica’s donation was even more imperative to help occupy kids during family intake and weekly case management sessions with parents.”

The four tablets come loaded with PBS, Audible, various games, and a Sesame Street curriculum for homeless children.

“As we saw the immediate effects COVID-19 was having on our region, Numerica gave more that $225,000 in Emergency Response Grants to organizations that were lending a helping hand to those in need,” said Jody Azevedo, External Relations AVP for Numerica Credit Union Coeur d’Alene. “But as a local credit union, we’re always trying to find ways to show our community we’re here to help them shine through this unprecedented time.”
