Somerville, MA - May 8, 2020 - Naveo Credit Union donated over $6,000 during the month of April to benefit their neighbors and local organizations affected by COVID-19. Donations were made to support the most vulnerable individuals in the community and the organizations that provide these services.

With the suspension of nearly all events, many of the local non-profits and organizations Naveo typically supports are facing challenges in raising much-needed funds. These funds are essential to keep services that support seniors, those without enough food and more running.  Naveo made several contributions to long-term partners of theirs such as Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers and the Somerville Homeless Coalition, as well as relief funds established by the cities of Cambridge and Somerville to assist those most-affected by COVID-19. Naveo made sure to take care of local healthcare workers as well, purchasing masks and sanitizer from local vendors that give back to healthcare workers. In addition, Naveo donated coffee from local coffee shop 1369 to healthcare workers at Cambridge Health Alliance.

“It is a privilege to join many compassionate organizations in our communities in lending a helping hand to our neighbors in need during these anxious times,” commented Albert Pinho, Interim Chief Executive Officer at Naveo Credit Union. “We appreciate the continuing patronage of our members, who make it possible for Naveo to support the great work of our local municipal and philanthropic agencies.”
