Chesterfield, MO (4/15/20) – As things change daily during the coronavirus crisis, one group of small businesses has taken an especially hard hit. Food trucks rely on events and street traffic for their revenue. With people staying home and events cancelled for the foreseeable future, they are struggling just as much, if not more that brick and mortar establishments.

As an essential business, First Community has been working with local establishments on providing meals for their hard working staff. Food trucks have been a great addition. They operate with higher food safety standards on a regular basis and are able to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Employees were able to be outside and spaced apart while waiting for food orders.

A few of the credit union’s favorite trucks came out Friday, March 27th. Truck Norris, Blues Fired Pizza, and Vincent Van Doughnut brought a variety of lunch choices. First Community also treated area first responders and neighboring essential businesses to lunch. Following the credit union motto of “people helping people”, they’re not only trying to boost morale amongst their employees, but also their neighbors and those working to keep the community safe and healthy.
