Tennessee Valley FCU Support Distance Learning for Local Students with $10,000 Donation
April 7, 2020
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (April 3, 2020)—Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union, headquartered in Chattanooga, Tenn., recently donated $10,000 to help buy technology devices for Hamilton County Schools students.
Hamilton County Schools were scrambling to ensure all students, at least from grades 3-12, have a technological device to use from home during the COVID-19 pandemic. TVFCU joined other local businesses that have helped with the initiative created by the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce and Chattanooga 2.0 to raise $100,000.
“We were delighted to help provide technology for students to use to continue their learning efforts during the pandemic,” said Tammy Zumbrun, TVFCU marketing/community outreach manager. “We know providing children a sense of normalcy during this unprecendented time is extremely important. For them to have the opportunity to stay connected with their teacher and school helps create some daily normalcy.”
The funds were used to purchase more Chromebooks for students to use during their at-home-studies during the COVID-19 pandemic.
