Shall We Dance? Member/owners of Community First Credit Union in northeastern Wisconsin played a big part in raising a record $220,000 for a nonprofit organization that supports survivors of sexual assault or abuse as well as providing educational efforts in local schools. CFCU executive Kevin Hartz and his professional dance partner (photo left)waltzed away with two awards, raising over $45,000 of the total for the Sexual Assault Crisis Center of the Fox Cities. Over the past four years, Community First has provided a dance contestant each year and raised nearly $100,000 for the agency, helping it continue to offer free counseling services to victims. "Their mission is all about helping, healing and giving hope to sexual assault victims," said Hartz. "To have some where for victims to go to and to come out of it with hope for the future is a great thing." CFCUs 20 branches used a variety of methods to help raise funds, including sales of candy bars, baked goods and paper icons, lunches, casual days and more to help sustain an important regional service. Cathie Tierney, CFCU president/ceo, who danced in 2012, said, "Kevins success for this worthy cause couldnt have happened without the incredible support of the entire Community First team and our very generous, caring members." Community First Credit Union is a member-owned financial cooperative serving more than 100,000 member/owners in Northeastern Wisconsin. The credit union has more than $1.8 billion in assets and currently operates 20 full-service branches and eight non-traditional branches in schools, assisted living facilities and the King Veterans Home in Waupaca.
