(SAN ANTONIO, TX – March 12, 2020) – The Security Service Charitable Foundation is donating $2,500 to Transplants for Children (TFC), helping children and families overcome the emotional, social, and economic challenges associated with the pediatric transplantation process. The donation will go toward TFC’s family emergency assistance program to provide financial assistance, family counseling services, and support the pediatric to adult care transition program.

“We are able to serve more than 1,500 children, parents, and siblings annually due to the generosity of partners like the Security Service Charitable Foundation,” said Diana Kendall, deputy director for Transplants for Children. “This network of healing brings together the best of what a community can offer.”

Since its inception, TFC has served 4,500 children and their families, more than half of which are low-income and uninsured.

“Every child deserves a fighting chance,” said Mike Oliver, vice president of disposition and profit and loss for Security Service Federal Credit Union. “Transplants for Children fights for them financially and emotionally so they can focus on healing. We’re pleased to be able to assist such a worthwhile program.”

Founded in 1986 by Sharon and Eric Sutton, Transplants for Children (TFC) has worked tirelessly to bring hope to families nationwide. TFC provides critical support every step of the way, from infancy into early adulthood, for transplant children and their families with services that include crisis funds, family support and peer networks.
