Kstate CREDIT UNION donates $5297 to Flint Hills Foster Teen Camp
February 5, 2020
MANHATTAN, KS – February 5, 2020 - kstate CREDIT UNION presented a check for $5,297 to the Flint Hills Foster Teen Camp organization -- the money was raised during kstate CREDIT UNION’s Employee Jeans Program throughout 2019. Employees can choose to wear jeans to work throughout the year in exchange for a five-dollar donation. The employees voted on the charity or community organization that will receive the total amount donated at the end of the year.
LaRae Kraemer, CEO/President for kstate CREDIT UNION said, “Mike and Lisa at Flint Hills Foster Teen Camp are doing great work for Kansas teens in Foster care. We are excited that the Employee Jeans Program proceeds are being donated to such a great organization.”
The goal of the Flint Hills Foster Teen Camp is to provide a place where foster teens are safe and can relax from the stress of their uncertain lives while experiencing activities that allow them to be kids, build trust and give them HOPE.
Mike Irvin, Director of FHFTC, stated on his Facebook page in response to the donation, “I don't know how to even put into words how humbling this continues to be! Lisa Staub Irvin and I are so blown away by the love and support that continues to come forth and by the way you all stand beside us in this mission of changing the lives of these foster teens! Truly, there is no way that we could do what we do without you and your support!”
