Williston, ND - February 28, 2020 - Western Cooperative Credit Union (WCCU) is always looking for ways to support their community! Recently, the credit union’s “Cancer Crushers” Relay for Life team announced the winner of their 2019 quilt: Lisa Soiseth. The team sold raffle tickets for $1 apiece, raising $2,282 – the most they have ever raised! This quilt is very special, as it was handmade with love by members of WCCU’s staff right at the credit union. “It is so rewarding seeing the excitement in the winner's eyes each year,” said Sarah Johnson, Marketing Director at WCCU.

Then, WCCU teamed up with Hagan Elementary for the annual “Teton Spirit Night.” The theme for 2020 was a “White Out,” where the students, Hagan Staff, and WCCU staff donned their white Teton gear and cheered them on! Although the teams lost, their Teton spirit has not faded. PeeWee the Penguin even brought a friend to the game – the Abominable Snowman! Hagan teachers hosted games during halftime, and WCCU staff tossed out t-shirts to the crowd and gave away trinkets at the door. WCCU and Hagan Elementary take pride in their Teton Spirit Nights, and are already looking forward to next year.

Most recently, WCCU employees volunteered at a MobilePack event for Feed My Starving Children. WCCU crew and other volunteers filled boxes with nutrient-rich food, proteins, and rice that will feed starving and malnourished children across the world. The MobilePack event in Williston was held for two days, February 20-22 and according to announcements on 660 KEYZ News Radio, the Williston community had 1,714 volunteers and packed 383,184 meals. That is enough to feed 1,079 children for a whole year! WCCU is proud to volunteer for such worthy causes.
