Kinecta FCU and Innovision Society Announces $50,000 in Scholarships to Deserving Students

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA - February 19, 2020 — Innovision Society, an affiliate of Kinecta Federal Credit Union, will award nine “Innovision Society Scholarships” of $5,000 and one “Belva Roberts Leadership Scholarship” in the amount of $5,000 to help deserving students on their journey to higher education. Beginning February 1, eligible students can apply at innovisionsociety.org/scholarships.
Innovision Society is a non-profit organization with a mission to help well-deserved members with scholarships and financial empowerment. All applications and supporting documents must be received by March 1, 2020. Recipients are selected by the Innovision Society’s scholarship committee based on GPA, SAT or equivalent, essay, community involvement, awards, achievements, government/student relations (“Belva Roberts Leadership Scholarship” only) and financial need. The ten scholarship winners will be announced on or around May 31, 2020 and funds will be paid directly to the winners’ college/university on or around August 31, 2020.
Membership in Innovision Society is a requirement to apply for the scholarships and applicants must be 24 years of age or younger at the time of application. During her career, Belva Roberts was an avid supporter of Innovision Society and active in her community and in legislative advocacy. Providing scholarships to help students further their college education was a source of great pride for Roberts.
Innovision Society has awarded over $200,000 in academic scholarships since 2001 to students attending renowned colleges and universities such as California State University Dominguez Hills, Claremont McKenna College, University of California Berkeley, University of Pennsylvania, University of Southern California, Cornell University, Harvard University, Loyola Marymount University, California State University, Riverside and El Camino College.
