Greensboro, NC – January 28, 2020 – Summit Credit Union is pleased to announce the success of their first “Join the Huddle” campaign. In August through December of last year, Summit Credit Union set up an online auction for tickets to Carolina Panthers’ regular season home games. In a unique twist, the winning bidder of each game was given the choice of where to donate the funds from their bid to one of five pre-selected charities, including Susan G. Komen-Charlotte Breast Cancer Foundation, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals/Duke Children’s, ASPCA, Toys for Tots, and Wounded Warrior Project.      Summit Credit Union also held a “Summit Wears Pink” pledge drive on Friday, October 25. Staff donated money to wear pink with jeans for the day. Staff raised $240 pledged solely to the Susan G. Komen-Charlotte Breast Cancer Foundation.

In total, Summit Credit Union raised over $3,500 for Susan G. Komen-Charlotte Breast Cancer Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project, and Toys for Tots. 100% of pledges and auction proceeds were donated and presented to the three charities in January 2020.

“As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, we want to give back to our community as much as possible. We are pleased with the success and creativity of our first Join the Huddle campaign and look forward to joining the huddle again in 2020”, says Sam Whitehurst, President and CEO of Summit Credit Union.
