GEM Federal CU Makes Holidays Brighter in Minot
January 6, 2020
Minot, ND - January 6, 2020 - Each year, employees at GEM Federal Credit Union in Minot, ND pay $1 to wear jeans on Fridays. At the end of the year, the credit union uses the money to buy fruit baskets for some of their members during the holidays. This year, after delivering their fruit baskets, the credit union found they had some money to spare, and decided to make a donation to Dakota Hope.
Dakota Hope Clinic is a charitable Christian outreach ministry that provides care, support, and education related to sexual health, pregnancy, and childbirth in the Minot region. The clinic is affiliated with Heartbeat International and the National Institute of Family and Life Advocates (NIFLA). The Corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and social welfare purposes.
With the extra money, GEM FCU was able to purchase laundry soap, diapers, car seat covers, and diaper bags for the people they serve. Shown in the photo above is Kim Colbenson, CEO of GEM with an employee at Dakota Hope.
