Credit Union Supports Education Foundation

graftonGRAFTON As a credit union that is deeply rooted in its community, Grafton Suburban Credit Union (GSCU) has been a longstanding supporter of the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Blackstone Valley Education Foundation. In April, GSCU participated in the Blackstone Valley Education and Business Forum for Grafton educators from the GraftonSchool District. The event discussed the growing demand to meld workforce needs with education and addressed how this is the key to economic growth. The forum drew 130 business leaders and school district representatives from the BlackstoneValley towns, with former Lt. Governor Timothy Murray as one of the prominent speakers. "Grafton Suburban Credit Union is an important partner of Blackstone Valley Education Foundation," said Paul Lynskey, Executive Director, Blackstone Valley Education Foundation.� "GSCU�has a strong commitment to education and enthusiastically supports the work we do with local schools. The BV Education and Business Forum was a first-of-its-kind gathering of educators and�business leaders committed to developing the local work force needs of tomorrow." In May, GSCU continued its support at the 24th Annual Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament to benefit the Blackstone Valley Education Foundation. "The Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce counts the Grafton Suburban Credit Union as one of our foremost colleagues in service and community," said Jeannie Hebert, President and CEO of the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce. "The team at GSCU is dedicated to giving back and developing relationships that support, strengthen and enhance the quality of life in the BlackstoneValley and beyond. They are truly good stewards of the region. "In 2013, GSCU has given nearly $1,500 in support of the Blackstone Valley Education Foundation, whose mission is in conjunction with area businesses and provides a private sector support of local school districts," said Daniel Crossin, GSCU Real Estate Supervisor. "Were proud to assist the Blackstone Valley Education Foundation, and look forward to expanding this in years to come." Grafton Suburban is a $125 million credit union serving 11,000 members in Worcester and MiddlesexCounties.
