Red River Chapter Raises Over $2,400 for Jessys Toy Box

The Red River Chapter of Credit Union recently held their annual Holiday Social at the Fargo Air Museum with 140 chapter members in attendance! Each year, an Irish Auction is held with all donations raised going to a different charitable organization. This year’s chosen recipient was Jessy’s Toy Box. Heather Haberman provided a presentation about the background and purpose of this charity. Jessy’s Toy Box was started by her son, Jessy, when he received a toy while he was in the hospital. He wanted to spread that cheer to all the kids in the hospital as well, so he started gathering donations and delivering them to other kids in the hospital. Sadly, Jessy passed away in February 2018, but his family promised to keep the donations going. They have donated toys in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, and even Florida!
The Red River Chapter is proud to announce that the total raised for the evening was $2,420! In addition to the Irish Auction donation, attending credit unions were encouraged to bring toy donations. At the end of the night, Heather’s van was filled to the top! Thank you to all that attended and made this generous donation possible.
