Minot, ND - The Credit Unions United Chapter of Minot recently had three credit union professionals graduate from the Minot Area Chamber of Commerce CLI (Community Leadership Institute). The three graduates include: Bobbi Hansen, Prairie FCU; Jocelyn Walz, Town & Country CU; and Sue Bergman, GEM FCU.
Along with a group of 25 Chamber members, they received a behind-the-scenes look at Minot. During the course of the nine week class, the students were able to visit the Minot Air Force Base, which included a tour of the B52 bomber and the missile controller simulator. They also viewed the Military Police dog training facility, as well as other areas of the base. The Minot Police Dept and Fire Dept held demonstrations for the class, they toured local media outlets, and even heard from leaders of the Minot area educational system.
In addition to the class session, the group worked together to raise supplies for the Magic City Blessing Bank, a non-profit group that provides personal care items for those in need in the local schools and community. In all, the group collected 3,913 personal care items and raised $2,219 for the organization!
