MIDLAND, MI (November 12, 2019) — Members First Credit Union (MFCU) is engaging all staff in a branch-wide celebration of World Kindness Day on Wednesday, November 13 by preforming random acts of kindness. Staff is excitedly planning how their teams can positively impact the community and put a smile on a community members face.

World Kindness Day was introduced in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement to promote kindness though the world and is said to be observed annually by many countries. No matter what the history is, MFCU decided to celebrate as the message focuses on good deeds, being a positive member of our community and follows the credit union philosophy of “people helping people.”

Everyone can participate in World Kindness Day, and MFCU encourages you to do so! Random acts of kindness can be a small, simple act with a huge impact on the person it reaches. Examples of random acts of kindness include purchasing the meal behind you in a drive thru lane, leaving a sticky note with a positive message on it, or visiting with members in a retirement home. We can all encourage a better tomorrow by positively impacting our community today.

Although MFCU is participating in World Kindness Day, it is part of their philosophy to make a difference in their communities all year long, which is why they have the Community Difference Project. The Community Difference Project was created on the foundation of the credit union philosophy of “people helping people.” Staff members at MFCU are committed and passionate about living out this philosophy by providing non-profit organizations support through monetary donations, random acts of kindness and volunteering.
