Driven by Midwestern Values. We care and we are here to improve lives.
Falcon Heights, MN - In keeping with SPIRE’s core action of giving back, SPIRE employees have again banded together during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In a 5-year tradition that has generated $9,000, employees across the 19 SPIRE branches purchased pink and white “Pinktober” items. The proceeds of which are donated to the American Cancer Society.
In Minnesota alone, nearly 31,000 new cancer cases have been reported in 2019. “Just as in our members’ lives, many of our employees have been personally impacted by cancer,” said Bridget Petersen, Market VP of Community Outreach, “The need to increase awareness, and generate funds for research and patient care is great. This has consistently been one of the biggest staff fundraisers of the year.”
The Pinktober fundraiser is just one of several charitable opportunities in which SPIRE staff and members participate throughout the year.
“Each year, our employees proudly and selflessly and put on their Pinktober attire,” stated SPIRE President/CEO Dan Stoltz, “I’m continually inspired by their commitment to upholding the SPIRE mission of improving lives.”
