(Somerville, MA) For the ninth consecutive year, Naveo Credit Union participated in the Miracle Jeans Day initiative to raise funds for Boston Children’s Hospital, the local Miracle Network hospital. During the month of September, Naveo joined hundreds of organizations and raised funds from employees and members. Naveo then matched the employee donations for a total donation of $1,500.
Naveo participated in the Miracle Jeans Day initiative on Wednesday, September 11 by trading in their business attire for jeans and their favorite New England sports team tee shirt in exchange for a donation to Boston Children’s Hospital. To raise additional funds, Naveo extended employee jeans day to all Fridays throughout the month of September. During the donation period, branches were equipped with canisters to collect donations from members.
This year, some of Naveo’s management team had the opportunity to meet with representatives from Boston Children’s Hospital for a tour to learn how the dollars raised from Miracle Jeans Day goes toward helping children and families in need. At the end of the tour, Naveo presented a check for $1,500 to the hospital.
“The generosity of our members and employees year-after-year is a true demonstration of the credit union philosophy of ‘people helping people.’ Miracle Jeans Day continues to top fundraising effort and one that we know makes a direct impact by providing medical needs to children in our community. Our visit to Boston Children’s Hospital was an eye-opening experience which allowed us to see the dollars we raise at work to help kids feel more like kids while at the hospital,” commented Rui Domingos, Chief Executive Officer of Naveo Credit Union.
Miracle Jeans Day is a fundraising and awareness initiative for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals to fund life-saving medical research for the treatment of their patients. Since 1983, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has raised more than $5 billion to benefit and fund life-saving medical needs at 170 hospitals throughout the country. Naveo has raised nearly $15,000 in the last nine years of participation.
