Hanscom AFB, MA (October 11, 2019) – Hanscom Federal Credit Union presented a $1,000 donation to the local youth enrichment organization Freedom House. The check was presented at the grand opening of Hanscom FCU’s South Bay branch in Dorchester, MA. The mission of Freedom House is to transform the economic and cultural fabric of high-need communities through education and leadership development, and serves young people in the greater Boston area.

“To celebrate our arrival, we are pleased to present a donation to Freedom House, one of our new neighbors, in recognition of their mission of developing leadership skills through community involvement and college success in high-need communities,” said Ray Phillips, Hanscom FCU’s Chairman of the Board. “These activities closely align with our own values, which include our commitment to financial education and improving the lives of our members.”  

Katrina Shaw, CEO of Freedom House, also spoke at the check ceremony. “We’re also looking forward to being able to partner with Hanscom FCU to bring financial literacy to our young people. Thank you so much, this donation means the world. You could have picked anybody, but we’re really grateful that you picked us.”
