River Cities Community Credit Union Helps Renovate Local Movie Theater for Community

Atchison, KS - With a matching Community Development Grant from the HCUA Foundation, River Cities Community Credit Union was able to make an impactful donation on the renovation of their community movie theater. The theater had been closed for ten years, and the community no longer had a bowling alley, movie or miniature golf course.
The theater has given parents and grandparents a place to take their children and grand-children without having to pack for a two hour round trip to Kansas City. Local kids can once again ride their bikes to the movies, and college students from the two area schools can walk to the movie theater.
In addition, this destination business will work to fulfill an entertainment gap while creating $350K-$500K in gross taxable revenue for the community. Credit union members from age 1-100 will benefit from the remnovated state-of-the-art movie theater, Fox Theatre Atchison!
