Robins Financial Credit Union Contributes $156,000 to Community Project

Warner Robins, GA — Robins Financial Credit Union recently contributed over $156,000 to eight organizations as part of their annual Community Project. Organizations are selected by a Board Committee based on their reputation and the work they do for the community.

Robins Financial is committed to the communities they serve and give back whenever possible. The funding from this year’s Community Project will fill a specific need for the selected organizations as follows:

Café Central serves the hungry residents of Milledgeville. They serve a weekly free meal to residents along with providing fellowship. They received $11,000 to purchase a storage building.

Georgia Industrial Children’s Home has been a place of nurturing, healing and skills training for youth since 1897. Currently they work with children in the foster care system and provide a home for up to 60 males between the ages of 11-21 years old. They received $10,000 to be used on the recent construction of their school and gym.

Genesis Joy House Homeless Shelter, Inc. is making history by being the first transitional housing facility in the state of Georgia to house our homeless female Veterans. They offer empowerment programs, life skills, computer training and job readiness. Upon graduating, the Veterans will have a career and a permanent residence. They received $10,000 to further the renovations on their transitional home.

J.O.Y. Clinic is a Christian, volunteer based, nonprofit mission of the Laurens Baptist Association that provides health care at no cost to the residents of Laurens County. Patients must be employed and without health insurance or have been unemployed for 6 months or less and actively seeking work. The J.O.Y. Clinic offers medical, dental and vision care as well as spiritual support. They received $7,000 to use to update office equipment and continue to provide their services to the community.

Make-A-Wish Georgia creates life-changing wishes for children facing critical illness. They received $60,000 to grant the wishes of six children in the Middle Georgia area.

Ronald McDonald House is a home for families to stay when their children are patients at the children’s hospital. They believe that families are stronger when they stay together, which helps the healing process. They received $35,000 for the reception area and furnishings in the new home facility that’s currently under construction.

The Cottage raises awareness and facilitates the healing of individuals, families and communities affected by sexual violence and child abuse. They provide therapy for these victims as they begin their journey to healing. They received $5,500 to pay for therapy session for 10 victims.
