Maddock, ND - North Star Community Credit Union organized a friendly competition between branches for Miracle Jeans Day on September 11th. Each branch was attempting to raise the most money, with the winner having the honor of presenting the ceremonial check to Sandford Children’s Hospital in Fargo.

At the end of the day, the Cavalier branch won, raising $1,642.29. They sold CMN Icons, plus staff donated to wear jeans. In addition, they held a Chinese auction fundraiser, and organized a chili feed for free will donations. Some of the other branches held bake sales, sold “tacos in a bag” and also had chili feeds and even sold barbeque chicken, all for free will donations.

With the fundraising total coming in at $5,970, the North Star Executive Leadership Team stepped in at the minute, pooling the last $60 they needed to reach a nice, even $6000.00! In addition to the cash donations, the credit union also accepted donations of tissue boxes at each branch location to help support Kelsey’s Courage. All of the Kleenex boxes will also be delivered to Sanford Children’s Hospital in Fargo. The credit union has collected over 500 boxes, which is sure to help Kelsey’s Courage reach their goal of collecting 1,500 boxes

“We really do have the most amazing, supportive members and staff to help raise this amount of money,” said Melanie Quinton, Marketing Director. “For that, we are very proud and thankful,” she added.
