HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – United Federal Credit Union (United) donated $5,000 to the Four Seasons Foundation, a palliative and hospice care non-profit organization serving western North Carolina.

United’s donation will help support the music therapy program at Four Seasons. As part of the Hospice care team, music therapists address the social, emotional, psychological, physical and spiritual needs of patients, family members and bereavement clients.

“We are so happy to be able to support the music therapy program,” said Lee Beason, United’s Market Vice President—North Carolina. “The Four Seasons team provides an extraordinary service to our community, and it’s an honor to help them give comfort to patients and families during an extremely difficult time.”

Music therapists at Four Seasons are board-certified clinicians who intertwine the inherent power of music with counseling skills to provide evidenced-based holistic care.

“We are incredibly grateful for the generosity shared by Lee and United Federal Credit Union,” said Millicent Burke- Sinclair, CEO of Four Seasons. “United’s support comes at a time when we are serving significantly more patients than ever before. Thank you to United for supporting Four Seasons and the entire community.”

The Four Seasons Foundation says the power of music can revive memories, create a path of communication, and even comfort agitated patients at the end of their lives.

“Thank you to the members, staff, and leadership at United for caring about their neighbors,” said Loretta Shelton, Four Seasons Foundation Executive Director. “United’s support of hospice will help ensure care for the weakest among us.”
