TruStone Financial Foundation Donates $1,000 to CROSS Services
August 14, 2019
PLYMOUTH, Minn. — In celebration of TruStone Financial Federal Credit Union’s 80th anniversary, the TruStone Financial Foundation is making a $1,000 donation to a local charity on behalf of each Minnesota and Wisconsin branch. As part of this initiative, TruStone Financial’s Rogers branch recently donated $1,000 to CROSS Services.
CROSS Services is a non-profit organization that provides food, clothing, housing assistance, meal deliveries and other essential items and services to community members in need. Currently, 95% of every dollar that is donated to CROSS goes towards its aid programs; that’s well above the national average of 70%.
“After visiting Cross on a couple of occasions and learning more about how much they are helping our local communities, it was an easy decision to choose them for our donation,” said Matthew Ronning, manager of the Rogers TruStone Financial branch.
Liz Johnson, Executive Director at CROSS Services, thanked TruStone Financial for the donation. “Every dollar received can be turned into ten dollars’ worth of groceries,” she said. Pat Schwalbe, Director of Volunteers and Community Engagement at CROSS, added, “I think what TruStone is doing is fantastic, and I reflect on how this may challenge others as they consider what their $1,000 can do.”
