Jensyn Rickenbach of Sioux Falls and Christian Swenson of Baltic each were recently awarded $1,000 Community Service Scholarships from
Sioux Falls Federal Credit Union of Sioux Falls, SD. Both will use the funds to help finance their post-high school education this coming fall.
The two winners, who were selected from numerous applicants, had outstanding records of service to their community. Rickenbach spends her free time volunteering at Avera Hospital in the Pediatric Unit enlightening young children. Swenson has been actively involved in Union Gospel Missions outreach programs and Kids Against Hunger, which helps feed hungry children in our communities.
"These two young scholars are perfect examples of the impact one person can have on improving the lives of others" said Fran Sommerfeld, President/CEO of Sioux Falls Federal Credit Union. Rickenbach plans to attend Augustana College this fall and Swenson will be enrolled at South Dakota State University in Brookings.
Sioux Falls Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1934 and currently serves anyone who lives or works in Minnehaha, Lincoln, McCook and Turner counties of South Dakota. The not-for-profit cooperative has over 25,000 members with four Sioux Falls locations.
