Sioux Empire FCU Celebrates Annual Meeting with Prizes and Awards

Chartered on August 25, 1938, Bluestone Federal Credit Union was originally started to offer not-for-profit financial services to the employees of the City of Sioux Falls. Over the years Bluestone Federal Credit Union’s field of membership has grown to encompass anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in 43 counties across Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and South Dakota. Today Bluestone Federal Credit Union is a full service Credit Union with over 100 million in assets and 10,000+ members.

Sioux Falls, SD—Sioux Empire Federal Credit Union recently celebrated its 81st Annual Membership Meeting on Tuesday, July 16, 2019. The event was hosted at the Sioux Falls Best Western Plus Ramkota Hotel. Over 200 Sioux Empire Federal Credit Union members were in attendance.

A traditional business meeting followed dinner announcing the unanimous re-election of JoAnne Bechtold and the election of Dan Brendtro to the Sioux Empire Federal Credit Union Board of Directors. At the conclusion of the meeting, the Board of Directors (and their slated titles) are as follows:

• Paul Buriak, Chairperson

• JoAnne Bechtold, Vice-Chairperson

• Linda Hoeck, Secretary/Treasurer

• Connie Byrne-Olson

• Ken Giegling

• Mike Markstrom

• Dan Brendtro

Staff members were also congratulated for their years of commitment. Three employees were congratulated on 3 years: Becky Hernandez, Brenna Randolph, and Debra Dixon. Two employees were recognized for 5 years: Ryan York and Teena Frederick. Michael Van Driesen, IT Systems Manager, was congratulated on his Credit Union dedication of 15 years.

The meeting continued with a door prize raffle for members, which included gift baskets and donated items from the Credit Union Association of the Dakotas, CU Mortgage Direct LLC, DFS Insurance, CU*Answers, KELO Television, Midco Business, and Best Western Plus Ramkota Hotel. The evening ended with several rousing rounds of bingo.
