Huron, SD - Dakotaland Federal Credit Union recently hosted their Annual Memberfest. While hundreds of credit union members enjoyed a walking taco dinner, kids activities, and give-a-ways, a collection of $650 in cash donations was raised for the local United Way.

The United Way Heartland Region refers to Dakotaland as a pace-setter business.  “We host our event prior to the start of the official campaign and our donation helps gets things rolling”, stated Dakotaland’s VP of Marketing, Dawn Mutchelknaus. The Credit Union has done this for years and it has proven to be a productive way to launch the United Way’s fundraising efforts.

Credit Union staff gathered to present the donation to the United Way Heartland Region on behalf of Dakotaland’s Membership.  “We are proud to say our credit union members are the best and their generous donations to this community focused agency are a reflection of their benevolence and willingness to support a good cause”, commented Dakotaland President, Dan Cumbee.

Dakotaland Federal Credit Union has 12 locations in the communities of Huron, Volga, Brookings, Madison, Redfield, DeSmet, Mitchell, Aberdeen, Watertown and Woonsocket. With 37,000 members and $357 million in assets, Dakotaland continues to be locally owned and operated offering a full-line of financial services to its membership since 1935.
