Northwest FCU Foundation Raises $100,000 for Scholarship Program at Annual Golf Tournament

Herndon, Va. NWFCU Foundation, the charitable arm of Northwest Federal Credit Union, held its fourth annual Drive for the Driven Golf Tournament on June 18, 2019. The money raised from the event will benefit the NWFCU Foundation Scholarship Fund, which has awarded scholarships to college-bound students since 2005 totaling close to $1.4 million.

“We are so thankful for our sponsors and golfers who helped make this the most successful Drive for the Driven golf tournament to date,” said Executive Director of the Northwest Federal Credit Union Foundation, Kaycee Childress. “Proceeds from this year’s event will help us expand the program in years to come, awarding even more scholarships to talented, hard-working recipients, as well as continuing to build our community college Lifeline grant program.”

2019 scholarships were awarded on June 12 and celebrated with a luncheon at the Chantilly National Golf and Country Club where the tournament was held. Applications for the 2020 scholarships will be available December 2nd, 2019.
