Credit Union Donates $1,500 to National Guard Family Program

AFFN Matching Grant 2013Hanscom AFB, Mass. Hanscom Federal Credit Union recently presented a $1,500 check to the Massachusetts National Guard Family Program Volunteer Advisory Council. The award, sponsored by the Armed Forces Financial Network, is a match to the Board Memorial Award presented by the credit union last fall. This is the ninth straight year the AFFNs Matching Grant Program has added value to Hanscom FCUs award. The award recognizes volunteer groups that serve Hanscom FCUs� membership base. The Massachusetts National Guard Family Program serves reservists and their families throughout the state by building and supporting a productive, open relationship between Guard families and the Guard. The Programs 14-member Volunteer Advisory Council, located in Wellesley, Mass., won the Board Memorial Award for its work recruiting, developing and educating volunteers and unit Family Support Groups. "We selected the Volunteer Advisory Council because we know what families go through in support of military service," said Hanscom FCU Chairman of the Board Paul Marotta. "Our friends at AFFN obviously do too -- maybe as well as anyone -- and were grateful theyve chosen to more than double our support of this incredibly worthy group."
