Fargo, ND - Those who have attended the CUAD Summit in the past know that at each annual event, we organize a “Give Back” project with the ultimate goal to bring more attention to credit unions by demonstrating to the hosting community that we truly care. This year, we participated in a charity food drive for the Great Plains Food Bank in Fargo. We asked each attendee and credit union to consider bringing items to donate, and what a response we had!

By the end of the first day of the Summit, the first Great Plains Food Bank collection barrel was full of contributions! By day three, the gifts were overflowing and surrounding the donation area. In addition, several cash donations were dropped off. At the end of the Summit, 345 pounds of food, paper products, personal care items, and cleaning supplies had been contributed, plus $60 in cash.

“Somewhere in North Dakota and western Minnesota, a family is struggling to make ends meet,” said Marcia Paulson, Chief Development Officer for the Great Plains Food Bank organization. “Thanks to friends like you and your generous gifts, that family received a food box, allowing them to keep their lights on and eat. Thank you for being part of providing hunger relief. Ending hunger is a shared responsibility, and we thank you for joining hands with the Great Plains Food Bank in making this a reality,” she concluded.

The Great Plains Food Bank's mission is to end hunger in North Dakota and western Minnesota through community partnerships. They are the largest hunger-relief organization in North Dakota.
