United Federal CU Offering Flood Relief Programs to Members Affected by Arkansas Floods

FORT SMITH, Ark. – United Federal Credit Union announced it is immediately offering its Members and those living in Arkansas impacted by the May 2019 flooding the following relief programs:

  • Waiver of early withdrawal penalty on share certificates
  • Signature Loan with no payments for 90 days
  • Special loan payment arrangements through United’s Member Assistance Program
  • Installment loan deferments
  • U First credit card with 0% Intro APR  for six months, then a variable rate from 9.99% to 18.00% APR

“Our members and the communities across the River Valley in Arkansas are experiencing events like we never have experienced before,” said United Market Vice President, Stephanie Riffle. “Because we are truly a part of the community, I am proud to work for an organization that is offering assistance and support in this critical time of need.”

United is also donating $1,000 to the American Red Cross to assist in disaster relief efforts, and will match up to $15,000 in donations.

The National Weather Service expects the Arkansas River to crest at 42.5 feet in the Fort Smith/Van Buren area, more than four feet above the previous record of 38.1 feet set in 1945.
