Spokane, Wash. – Numerica Credit Union was recently presented with the Mission in Action Award by Spokane Neighborhood Action Partners (SNAP) for Numerica’s support of SNAP’s Young Adult Housing Programs (YAHP).

The nomination, submitted by Shawna Sampson, Homeless Services Operations Coordinator for SNAP, read, “Numerica’s support of our YAHP program has been vital to our ability to successfully serve and end the homelessness of young adults in our community.” She further explained that Numerica’s support impacted the lives of more than 200 young adults.

In 2018, Numerica committed $30,000 to support SNAP’s YAHP over a three-year period. The program works to help provide individuals, ages 18-24, who are transitioning out of foster care and other situations with housing. Secure housing serves as a foundation in order to pursue educational and job opportunities, and is often a game-changer for their future.

In addition to the financial support, Numerica provides a series of financial education classes. These classes focus on topics ranging from budget, fraud, investing and credit.

“They [Numerica] not only financially support our programs but truly invest in our community,” the nomination continued. “Investing in our youth and young people truly builds community, increases its human potential, and shows they truly are neighbors by our side.”

Numerica Credit Union currently has over 146,000 members throughout Central and Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho and $2.2 billion in assets. It offers a full line of financial products and services, including mortgages and business

products, and is committed to giving back five percent of their earnings to the community each year. Numerica is federally insured by NCUA and an Equal Housing Opportunity lender. Membership is open to anyone who lives or works in the state of Washington or the Idaho Panhandle.
