Kennewick, Wash. – The Kennewick City Council approved a proposed naming partnership with Numerica Credit Union of the Southridge Sports & Events Complex’s Pavilion at yesterday’s City Council meeting.

Now named the Numerica Pavilion at Southridge, the partnership provides funding for improvements to the Pavilion, identifiable signage on the building, and promotion of community programs and special events through the new digital signage on Highway 395.

“This partnership between the City of Kennewick and Numerica exemplifies our commitment to helping communities live well by coming together and celebrating the events and people that make this an amazing place to live,” said Carla Cicero, Numerica president and CEO.

“It is important to us that we give to causes, charities and community partners who share our passion to foster well-being in the lives of our members, our neighbors, and our visitors,” explained Cicero. “By supporting the Southridge Complex, we’re also supporting family entertainment, community events, economic growth, and the creation of enjoyable memories that last a lifetime.”

Emily Estes-Cross, Kennewick Parks & Recreation Director, said the sponsorship will help the Southridge Sports & Events Complex continue to be one of the Tri-Cities’ greatest assets – a place for families to enjoy for generations to come and a regional tourism driver.

“Sponsorship dollars are reinvested in the Complex to maintain facilities that attract a wide audience of users and provide better communication of our events and programs to ensure that everyone in our community can take part,” Estes-Cross said.

Estes-Cross further explained that corporate partnerships help community assets to grow and thrive. This partnership will allow the City of Kennewick to promote upcoming special events and programs on new signage at its Highway 395 location, making it easier for patrons to find the Pavilion, which currently has no identifiable building signage.

Numerica will provide Riverfront $85,000 per year for eight years. In return for their investment in the community, Numerica will receive:

  • Illuminated sign on exterior of Pavilion building
  • Branding and display messages on 30’ monument highway sign
  • Inclusion in Southridge wayfinding signage throughout complex
  • Interior branding of the Pavilion
  • Inclusion in promotional materials and messaging for the Pavilion
  • Complimentary building use and event tickets for community outreach
