We are Georgia United Credit Union. It is our proud honor to make an impact in the lives of our members, team members and the communities we serve. Every day and in every way. Together, we are stronger and YOUnited.
Atlanta, GA – Georgia United Foundation donated over $5,000 to the Atlanta Community Food Bank this year through their annual Can Hunger food drive. This marks seven years of the food drive where members, local residents and businesses donated non-perishable food items or made monetary donations to support local food banks.
"We live in a state where one in seven residents struggles to get enough food to eat and one in five children don’t get enough food to eat,” says Kyle Waide, CEO and President of Atlanta Community Food Bank. “With the support from great organizations like Georgia United Credit Union, we can provide essential meals for those who might otherwise go hungry. This year alone, Georgia United’s donation will help us provide more than 20,000 meals.”
Georgia United branch communities have collected over 250,000 cans of food to support local food banks since the program began. Kim Wall, Georgia United’s director of business and community development stated, “We run this program in February each year because we understand that food pantries run low after the holidays. We are grateful for the generous donations and are proud to help support our community.”
