Duluth, GA – Georgia United Credit Union Foundation is excited to announce the award recipients of its sixth Annual School Crashers® program. A total of 10 schools across the state of Georgia have been named to receive facility improvements over the summer, with Toney Elementary School in Decatur selected as top recipient.

Located at 2701 Oakland Terrace, Toney Elementary is a Title I school that has educated generations of children in the surrounding community since 1952. Dr. Karen Dukes, special education teacher, nominated the school for a facility makeover.

In addition to the top award, five schools will receive smaller facility improvements, known as “mini-crashes” and four more schools will receive Mohawk® carpet grants.

Congratulations to all 10 recipients of the 2019 School Crashers program:

In the spring of 2019, Georgia United Foundation opened their School Crashers program nominations to all accredited K-12 schools in Georgia. Interested schools were asked to include a photograph along with a 250-word statement explaining why their school should receive a makeover. Since its inception, the School Crashers program has provided 33 school makeovers totaling over one-million dollars in improvements over the last five years.
