NAPERVILLE – DuPage Credit Union has partnered with the DuPage Regional Office of Education and Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet for the sixth consecutive year to raise funds for DuPage County students in need through its annual We’ve Got Your Back fundraiser.
The Credit Union hopes to raise $10,000 this year and provide hundreds of local students the supplies they need to start the 2019-2020 school year. One hundred percent of the proceeds will be used to purchase backpacks and basic supplies needed throughout the school year, such as paper, pencils, erasers, calculators, etc.
Since its inception, the We’ve Got Your Back fundraiser has raised over $61,000 and provided 5,257 backpacks and supply kits to DuPage County students in need.
“The cost of providing essential school supplies can be overwhelming,” said Amy Brandt, Vice President of Business Solutions. “Our hope is that we can alleviate some of the stress associated with preparing for the new school year by giving students in need the tools needed to excel in the classroom.”
Monetary donations will be accepted through July 31st and can be made online at dupagecu.com or at a Branch Office: Downers Grove, 725 Ogden Ave.; Naperville, 790 Royal St. George Dr.; and Wheaton, 625 E. Roosevelt Rd.
Backpacks, stuffed with supply kits, will be handed out to DuPage County students in need who attend Catholic Charities’ DuPage County Back to School Fair on August 7th at the DuPage County Fairgrounds, 2015 Manchester Road, Wheaton.
Sponsors of the 2019 We’ve Got Your Back Backpack fundraiser are: The Rusin Fulco Realty Group, Konsultek, Fiserv, Adrenaline, COTG, CO-OP, CUNA Mutual Group, Sand Castle™ Field Services, SN, MemberFirst, Immesign and Visa®.
