SANTA FE, New Mexico—Del Norte Credit Union (DNCU), New Mexico’s hometown financial cooperative, is proud to announce a $5,000 contribution to Bowl 4 Kids’ Sake, benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters Mountain Region. DNCU created 10 teams of employees that each were tasked with creating baskets as a giveaway and fundraiser for credit union members. On Sunday, April 28th, over 50 credit union employees, friends and family bowled at Pojoaque’s Cities of Gold Lanes and presented BBBS with the total funds raised.

“It is truly a gratifying experience to see our teams in purple coming together to raise funds for such a worthy cause.”   says DNCU CEO/President Chuck Valenti. “It shows the giving nature of both our employees and our members who come together for kids’ programs that are truly making a difference in the communities we serve.”

“We love doing this event because it is extremely rewarding to see how much impact our credit union can make for organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters. DNCU’s preferred auto dealer partners across New Mexico also got involved and donated on behalf of Del Norte Credit Union to BBBS,” says employee organizer Samantha B. Ortiz of the Compliance Department. “Everyone is able to bring out their creative side, build self-confidence by asking for donations, and most importantly help our youth while we all have fun bowling!”

Big Brothers Big Sisters uses donations from Bowl for Kids’ Sake to conduct background checks on volunteers to ensure child safety; and provide ongoing support for children, families and volunteers to build and sustain long-lasting relationships.
