Catholic Vantage Financial Awards 12 Scholarships to Area Students

Plymouth, Mich. (April 29, 2019) When Catholic Vantage Financial (CVF) invited members to apply for the credit union’s 2019 scholarship program, the plan was to award 10 scholarships. Because of the outstanding response to this year’s scholarship program, CVF’s volunteer board of directors voted to increase the total number of scholarships to 12.
The winning students and their families were recognized at CVF’s Annual Membership meeting in March.
Eight scholarships in the amount of $500 each were awarded to help cover tuition for students attending Catholic schools, with four scholarships for youth in elementary school and four in high school.
Elementary school recipients include:
Matthew Conely, South Lyon, Spiritus Sanctus
Elizabeth Henderson, Canton, Our Lady of Good Counsel
Ariana Medel, South Lyon, Our Lady of Victory
Daniel Spears, Plymouth, Our Lady of Good Counsel.
High school recipients are:
Dominic Maccani, Livonia, Divine Child High School
Kelly Mahoney, Canton, Mercy High School
Isabella Merucci, South Lyon, Mercy High School
Joshua Mohlman, Livonia, Catholic Central High School
In addition, four college scholarships of $1,000 each were awarded to 2019 high school graduating seniors from private or public high schools. Along with completing an online application, each student was required to submit a short essay about their understanding of financial matters.
