RAPID CITY, S.D. – Black Hills Federal Credit Union recently presented the Sturgis Police Athletic League (PAL) with a $1,000 donation to assist in the continued development and expansion of the Sturgis Bike Park, a professional-quality bicycle park for people of all ages and skill levels.
Managed and supported by the Sturgis PAL, the purpose of the park is to provide youth in the community with a safe, positive environment for recreation-oriented activity. BHFCU’s donation will assist the nonprofit organization in their efforts to construct a second, paved pump track for older and more advanced riders.
“BHFCU is passionate about improving lives in the communities we serve,” said Jessica Schmahl, Sturgis Member Service Center manager. “We’re proud to support the Sturgis Police Athletic League’s goal to encourage and promote youth-activity in our community.”
Sturgis PAL plans to begin construction on the park’s second pump track, located near Woodle Field, later this year.
